Headline: IMPORTANT! - PLEASE READ - Phoenix Marine Model Club and Corona Virus - Covid-19
Summary: It has been agreed by the Committee to follow Government advice on the restrictions of movement and gatherings of numbers of people (especially those over 70 and with underlying health problems) and to effectively close the Club and its activities down for a period of at least 12 weeks.

PLEASE CLICK ON THE HEADLINE FOR MORE INFORMATION ON CANCELLED EVENTS AND OTHER CURTAILED ACTIVITY.

Detail: This means that the AGM will be postponed probably for a year until April 2021 - I know this is a long delay but as at the moment there are no pressing proposals etc and these are unusual conditions we are living with.

The events etc. Cancelled are:-

AGM 6th April The 1 Metre race series 15th April to 24th June Club Night Lake sailing 11th May and 8th June Classic Scale Sail 24th May General Scale Power Day 7th June

There are planned visits to Kempton Pumping Station Model Display and Alfold Model Show which I imagine will be cancelled by the organisers but as a Club we will not be putting in an appearance.

We have heard from Silvermere Inn on the Lake and the Golf centre that they are still open but with restricted hours and welcome those that wish to to visit them for coffee and a bite to eat.

Thus if you wish to sail you would be welcome to do so as long as the Club safety requirement of two people is adhered to.

Radio Sailing Woking has cancelled its events (see their website) and the MYA has also cancelled its Summer. Details can be found here.

Please take note of the Government advice on keeping well

I will update you at intervals as to the Club situation in these troubling times

Regards and good health to all
